Linda T. Gehlmann

Mrs. Linda Theresa Gehlmann, known by many as, “Terri”, age 55, of Walterboro, entered into rest Wednesday, February 23, 2022.

Born July 30, 1966, in Columbia, South Carolina, she was a daughter of Mrs. Beverly Jean Pournelle and the late Mr. Jude T. Gehlmann.  She was an educator, having taught Biology and various science courses at Walterboro High School and also for the Berkeley County School District.  She attended the University of South Carolina on a voice scholarship.  She was a talented vocalist with an absolutely beautiful voice. She transferred to Charleston Southern where she received her degree in Biology. She attended Saint Jude’s Church.

Surviving in addition to her mother, Beverly of Walterboro are: a daughter, Mikaela Marie Crosby of Charleston; a sister, Barbara Gehlmann of Walterboro; an aunt, MaryAnne Cannady of Walterboro and her daughter, Deborah Culpepper; an uncle, P. A. Pournelle and his wife Terry of Walterboro and their children, Alex Pournelle and Amanda Furr, as well as many cousins in Pennsylvania.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be directed in her memory to the following: Saint Jude’s Church, 907 Wichman Street, Walterboro, South Carolina 29488; or to, Friends of Colleton County Animal Shelter, 33 Poor Farm Road, Walterboro, South Carolina 29488.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 o’clock Saturday morning, March 19, 2022, from Saint Jude’s Church, 907 Wichman Street, Walterboro.    The Reverend Newman Lawrence officiating.   The Rite of Committal will follow the Liturgy in the church’s memorial garden.
