Libby Weatherford Coker

Janie Elizabeth Weatherford Coker, 63, of Cottageville, passed away on August 5, 2021, in Moncks Corner, SC.

Janie, also known as Libby to family and friends, was born in Charleston, SC to St. Elmo Glover Weatherford, Jr. and Sylvia Christine O’Quinn Weatherford on June 1, 1958. She married Cary Talmadge Coker on March 28, 1985 in Wadmalaw Island, SC. Janie was a stay at home mom most of her adult life and loved taking care of her family. She loved going to the beach, doing puzzles, and spending time with family and friends.

Janie is preceded in death by her father, St. Elmo; mother, Sylvia; husband, Cary; brother, Harold Keith Weatherford; and sister, Deborah Lynn Sarco.

Janie is survived by her daughters and step-son, Christina Coker (Jeremy Todd) of Cottageville, Cari Skibba (Kenneth) of Cottageville, Shannon Metts of Charleston, and Christopher Coker (Stephanie) of Walterboro; her grandchildren, Emma Todd, Oaklee Skibba, Faith Skibba, Cooper Carter, Katalina Garvalia, and Kyler Garvalia; two great grandchildren; her sisters, Rhonda Weatherford of James Island, SC and Nancy Williams (David) of Moncks Corner, SC; brother in-law, Robert Sarco of Hollywood, SC; 6 nieces and nephews; and 8 great nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Llife will be held in honor of Janie’s life. The location, date, and time will be announced at a later time by her family.
