Mr. Leonard Lee Nettles, 85, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Saturday morning, April 1, 2023, at Beaufort Memorial Hospital in Beaufort, SC from respiratory illnesses.
Born March 21, 1938, in Walterboro, he was the only child to the late Joe Moorer Nettles and the late Martha Craven. He was a former employee of Asten Hill. He served extensively in his church including as a previous branch president before falling ill. He loved to talk to and joke with everyone he met, play his guitar, sing and listen to country music. Most of all, he will be remembered for his love and sacrifices for his family and his fellow man.
Leonard is survived by: his son, Gary Wayne Nettles and his wife, Theresa Lynn Nettles; daughter-in-law, Penny Robertson Nettles; grandchildren, Corey Nettles and Kimberly Nettles. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ruth Padgett Nettles and sons, David Lee Nettles, Timothy Allen Nettles and Tony Leonard Nettles.
Funeral services will be conducted 3 o’clock, Friday afternoon, April 7, 2023, from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints - Walterboro Branch, 1035 Dandridge Road, Walterboro, SC. The viewing will be for one hour prior to the funeral. Branch President Franklin Gilliland will be presiding. Interment will follow in Glendale Memorial Cemetery, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro, SC.
