WADMALAW ISLAND – Master Sergeant Leo Franklin Kyzer, Jr., United States Air Force (Ret.), known by all as “Frank”, of Wadmalaw Island, entered into rest Thursday afternoon, October 16, 2025, at Sprenger Health Care. Frank was twice married, first to the late Mrs. Glenda Sue Kyzer and secondly to the late Linda Brownlee Kyzer.
Born May 1, 1948, in Lexington, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Leo Franklin Kyzer, Sr. and the late Ernestine Kyzer. He served faithfully in the United States Air Force as well as the South Carolina Air National Guard until his retirement as a Master Sergeant. He served during both the Vietnam Era and Operation Desert Shield/Storm. He had attended Mount Elon Baptist Church in Hopkins and Faith Lutheran Church on Johns Island. He will always be remembered for his talent at woodworking and his love of hunting and fishing. He dearly enjoyed being with his family and having cookouts.
Surviving are: four children, Toby Kyzer (Amy), Marie Starkey (Paul), Patricia Riles (Raymond), and Earl Rhea (Teri); five siblings; ten grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services with military honors will be conducted at 2 o’clock Monday afternoon, October 27, 2025, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. The family will receive friends following the funeral ceremony.
