Lemerle Wooten

LENA- Mrs. Lemerle Sheppard Wooten, 88, of Lena, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at Hampton Regional Medical Center. She was the widow of the late Henry Montague Wooten.



Funeral services will be held 11 oclock, Friday, July 18, 2008 at Nixville Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. She will lie in state from 10 am until the hour of service at the church.



Mrs. Wooten was born December 6, 1919 in Truetland County, Georgia and was a daughter of the late Jackson Sheppard and Sarah Lou Ludie White Sheppard. She was a retired supervisor from Estill Manufacturing Company. Mrs. Wooten was a member of Nixville Baptist Church. After retiring, she spent her time caring for others. She also loved to cook and go fishing. She deeply cared for her family and always provided for them.



Surviving are: her daughters, Jacqueline McBride of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Sally Jo Moore and her husband Reverend Charles Moore of Hampton; sons, John Henry Wooten, Sr. and his wife Reba of Nixville, Charles R. Randy Wooten, Sr. and his wife Sheryl of Grays and George Montague Monty Wooten and special friend Edith Alward of Lena; 18 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Hugh Wooten, Sr. and his wife Catherine B. Kitty Wooten; grandson, David Jackson Wooten; brothers, Theodore Sheppard and Elzie Jackson Sheppard; and sister, Geneva Sheppard.
