Mrs. Leila Inez Breland, 75, of 15291 Lowcountry Highway, Ruffin, entered into her state of eternal rest Sunday afternoon, December 5, 2010, at her residence. She was the wife of the late Mr. John Donald Breland who died in 2007.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 oclock Thursday afternoon, December 9, 2010, from Bethel Untied Methodist Church, 16147 Lowcountry Highway, Ruffin, with The Reverend Wayne Major officiating. Interment will follow in the churchyard.
Mrs. Breland was born November 4, 1935, in Aiken, South Carolina and was a daughter of the late Jesse Edward Brown and the late Lucille Fincher Brown. She was a seamstress by trade having worked for Walterboro Dress Plant and Smoaks Manufacturing. She had also in her after hours work and on weekends, created and designed many beautiful wedding dresses as well as having fashioned many other clothing ensembles. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church Ruffin Charge and will be fondly remembered for her love of gardening and her talent at baking.
Surviving are: three sons, Danny Edwins and Michael Edwins both of Walterboro and Tony Pfeffer of Islandton; a daughter, Janice Alger of Walterboro; two step-daughters, Connie Georges of Atlanta, Georgia and Joan Breland of Walterboro; and two sisters, Beverly Groves and Helen Adams both of Walterboro. There are nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren that also survive. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Edwins; two sisters, Annette Hiott and Betty Benton as well as a brother, Paul Brown.
