Lee Stofer

April 11, 1929 — June 10, 2016

Mr. Lee Allen Stofer, 87, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Friday, June 10, 2016 at his residence.

Born April 11, 1929 in Sharon Grove Kentucky, he was the son of the late William Lee Stofer and Clemma Isabel Cook.  He served his country in the Unites States Army during the Korean War and then served in the Kentucky National Guard.  He was a retired Southern Baptist Minister, having been ordained in 1960; and was also a teacher and farmer. He was a member of North Walterboro Baptist Church.  Mr. Stofer enjoyed reading, singing and crossword puzzles and loved to travel when he was able.  He will always be remembered for being loyal to his family and friends.

Surviving are: his wife, Joyce Davenport Stofer of Walterboro; son, Lee Allen Stofer, Jr. and his wife Debra of Camanche,Iowa; daughter, Nancy Joyce Johnson and her friend Dan Perry of Columbus, Ohio; brother, William Cook Stofer of Bowling Green, Kentucky; and granddaughters, Sarah Stofer, Rebekah McLaughlin and her husband Christopher, Heidi Stofer, Jennifer Stofer, Kelsey Paskins and Shannon Paskins.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
