Mr. Lawrence Edward Carroll, 59, of 236 Johnnies Circle, Walterboro, entered into his state of eternal rest Sunday morning, February 27, 2011, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro.
A celebration of his life will be celebrated 6 oclock Wednesday evening, March 2, 2011, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro.
The family will receive friends following the ceremony in the Harbiston Stateroom of the funeral home until 8 oclock that evening.
Mr. Carroll was born July 7, 1951, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi and was a former truck driver having worked for the late Mr. Donald Searson. He was of the Baptist faith. He will be fondly remembered for his love of fishing the local creeks of Colleton County, and for his avid love of collecting things such as rods and reels, lighters, and knives.
Surviving are: his wife: Mrs. Diane Brooks Carroll; a daughter, Evelyn Wood and her husband Charles; two step-daughters, Ruth Chiasson and her husband Ralph Beach of Ladson and Diane ONeill and her husband Timothy Spahn of Walterboro; two brothers, Charles Shilnk of Louisiana and David Shilnk of Mississippi; and a sister, Sally Baughman of Mississippi. There are nine grandchildren, Madline Wood, Madison Wood, Colin Carroll, Laura Zapata, Charles E. Wood, Jr., Thomas Groves, Tabatha Miller, Savannah Spahn, and Secilia Spahn; as well as four great grandchildren, Shannon Pulido, Rose Pulido, Johnathan Pulito, and Carlos Zapata that also survive.
