Larry Weatherford

July 24, 1945 — July 22, 2012

Mr. Larry Thomas Weatherford, 67, of Cavanaugh Road near Walterboro, entered into his eternal rest Sunday morning, July 22, 2012, at the Colleton Medical Center.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 o'clock Thursday morning, July 26, 2012, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro with The Reverend Kenneth McCaskill and The Reverend Craig Crosby officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, 99 Pine Grove Road, Walterboro.

Mr. Weatherford was born July 24, 1945, in Cross, and was a son of the late Jesse Weatherford and the late Lois Yount Hopkins. For many years he resided in Florida before making the Walterboro area his home for the past thirty years. He was a retired Police Officer from the Holly Hill Police Department and was also employed for almost twenty years at United Food Service in Walterboro. He was a devoted member of Pine Grove Baptist Church No. 1 in Walterboro. He will be fondly remembered for his humorous nature, always having fun with those he loved and being able to lighten any mood. He also for many years was involved with CB radios before getting involved with Hand Radios where he was known by fellow operators as "Snoopy".

Surviving are his loving wife, Mrs. Myrtle Ann Hudson Weatherford; two sons, Larry Dale Weatherford of Camden and Jack Edward Wolf and his wife Jennifer of Lancaster; three daughters, Christi Weatherford of Vance, Judy Ann Wolf of Statesville, North Carolina, and Reese Mann of Alabama; three brothers, William Weatherford of Eutawville, Jimmy Weatherford of Eutawville, and Lewis Weatherford of Orangeburg; and a sister, Sylvia Weatherford of Eutawville. There are fourteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren who also survive. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Lee Wolf, Jr; a brother, John Henry Weatherford; and a sister, Virginia Metts.
