Mr. Larry Franklin DuBois, age 61, of 1056 Hendersonville Highway, Walterboro, entered into his eternal rest Thursday morning, October 15, 2009, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro.



Funeral services will be conducted 2 oclock Saturday afternoon, October 17, 2009, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro with The Reverend David Cox and The Reverend Gordon Ackerman officiating. Interment will follow in Glendale Memorial Cemetery, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro. Serving as casket bearers will be: Reverend Gordon Ackerman, Billy Ackerman, Frankie Pellum, Jonathan Ellis, Rick Bogardus, and Steve Ott. Serving as honorary escorts will be: Harold Shider, Jerry Lee, Bobby Smith, Sam K. Padgett, Dale Padgett, and Carol Gene Padgett. The family has extended an invitation to the Board of Directors, Administration, and Staff of Coastal Electric Cooperative to also serve as honorary escorts, those serving would assemble prior to the services at The Funeral Chapel at 1:30pm.



Mr. DuBois was born May 7, 1948 in Beaufort, South Carolina and was a son of the late Alton DuBois, Sr. and the late Loretta Purvis DuBois. He was employed by Coastal Electric Cooperative in Walterboro where he served faithfully in the capacity of field supervisor having retired from this career after thirty-one years of service. He was a member of the Peniel United Methodist Church in Walterboro. Larry will fondly be recalled by many as a wonderful and devoted friend and will always be cherished in the memories of his family as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He possessed an avid love of playing a good game of golf and always had a special joy in fishing the local creeks of Colleton County.



Surviving are: his wife of thirty-three years, Mrs. Cheryl Padgett DuBois; three daughters, Libby DuBois-Costa and her husband Michael of Beaufort, Jennifer DuBois of Walterboro, and Jamie DuBois Givens and her husband Scott of Ruffin; three brothers, Alton DuBois, Jr. of Lodge, Perry DuBois of Spartanburg, and Jerry DuBois of Spartanburg; and two sisters, Beatrice Norris of Boone, North Carolina and Ann Huffman of Aiken. There are seven grandchildren that also survive. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Alice Evans, Dolores Graves, and Theresa Phillips.
