Larry Axson

Mr. Larry ONeil Axson, 66, of 3927 Prices Bridge Road, Walterboro, died Monday evening, February 23, 2009, at his home on the river.



The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 Thursday evening, February 26, 2009, at The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Homes, Walterboro Chapel.



Mr. Axson was born January 27, 1942, in Orangeburg, and was a son of the late Harry D. Axson and the late Margie Tyler Axson. He was a retired employee of South Carolina Electric and Gas and was of the Southern Baptist faith. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge as well as was a member of the Shrines. He will be remembered for his love of working jobs of all kinds and tinkering with projects of all sorts. In former years, he had a great passion for hunting and fishing.



Surviving are: his wife: Mrs. Marilyn Waymire Axson; a son, Brian Axson and his wife Harriett of Orangeburg; two daughters, Marcia Castro and Mary Beth Moorer both of Orangeburg; five grandchildren; one great grandchildren; and several Aunts and Cousins.
