Lacy Pulis

Ms. Lacy Dawn Pulis, 40, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Sunday morning, October 6, 2024, at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. Lacy was able to help countless others through her selfless gift of life.

Born November 22, 1983, in Charleston, she was the daughter of Bruce Spencer Pulis and Annette “Ruthie” Nugent Pulis.  She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Anderson University with a Bachelor of Human Services Behavioral Health and was also graduate with academic honors from Webster University where she received her Master of Arts Human Services.  Lacy was a counselor with South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation and had worked for many years at Belk in Walterboro.  She devoted herself to the care of people with special needs, a cause she was passionate about.  More than anything, if you knew Lacy, you knew that her life revolved around her precious family.  She supported her boys in everything they did but especially in the sports they played and activities they were involved in at Colleton Preparatory Academy.

Surviving are: the love of her life, Ryan Wolf; her sons, Tanner Wolf, Walker Wolf and Kade Wolf; aunts and uncles, Louise Johnson of Walterboro, Joe Nugent (Yuki), Christian Nugent-Leary (Larry), Daniel Nugent, George Nugent, Jeffrey Pulis of Texas, Andrea Schoemmell (Harold) of New Hampshire, Jill Woodward of Georgia, Lori Pulis of Vermont, and Matt Pulis (Kris Hansen) of New York; as well as a host of cousins including, Barbara Russell Carelock (children, Robby, Riley and Reese), Anthony Russell and Jack (Sonora and Preston); Tommy Murray and Heather (children, Ava and Hannah), Jessica Nugent (Carter); Augie Nugent, Aki Cloherty and family, Danny Nugent and family, Shawny Murray (children, Lexie and Karsyn), John Murray (children, Ashten and Jillian), Fred Nugent, John Patrick Nugent (son, Cameron), Dina Byrns and Paul (children, Alex and Nicholas), Heidi Urban and Michael (children, Daniel and Ashley), Smitty Johnson (son, Landon), Scott Johnson, Amy Shannon, Joe Pulis, Becca Camp, Victoria Anctil, Peter Schoemmell (Melissa), Chris Schoemmell (Emily), Luke Buckham, Carrie Woodward, Rachel Woodward, Joey Woodward, Sam Pulis, and Hannah Pulis.

Lacy was preceded in death by her parents, Bruce and Ruthie Pulis; her brother, Brian Pulis; maternal grandparents, Fred and Bertha Nugent; paternal grandparents, Joseph and Muriel Pulis; and aunts and uncles, Scooter and Audrey Murray, John Nugent, and Rick Pulis.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made in Lacy’s memory to: MUSC Foundation, 18 Bee Street, MSC 450, Charleston, South Carolina 29425.
