Mrs. Kristi Smoak Hudson, 57, of Cottageville, entered into rest Thursday afternoon, January 8, 2026, at the Trident Hospital in North Charleston.
Born April 20, 1968, in Colleton County, South Carolina, she was the daughter of Mrs. Margaret Steen and the late Mr. John Mouzon Smoak, Jr. A member of the Cottageville Baptist Church, she will always be remembered for the love and devotion she had for her family. She centered her life around her grandchildren whom she adored as well as her beloved pups, Tucker and Jesse.
Surviving are: her husband of sixteen years, Mr. Chuck Hudson; her mother, Mrs. Margaret Steen and her husband Jim Steen of Cottageville; her two children, Kyle Cook (Kyla) of Walterboro and Kaitlyn Jackson (Austin) of Columbia; Chuck’s two daughters, Julia Hudson of Ridgeville and Kiani Kedigh of Summerville; two brothers, John Smoak (Mishele) of Fort Mill and Kevin Steen (Hope) of Goose Creek; seven grandchildren, Kacen, Kallie Mae, Cohen, Cooper, Kolby, Kaleb, and Konner; and a brother-in-law, Scott Hudson of Cottageville as well as several nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be directed in her memory to: Friends of Colleton County Animal Shelter, 33 Poor Farm Road, Walterboro, South Carolina 29488.
