Mrs. Kimberly Elsey Cottingham, 48, of 197 Catfish Court, Ridgeville, entered into her state of eternal rest Saturday afternoon, April 24, 2010, at her residence. She was the widow of Mr. David Jonathan Jo Jo Cottingham, Jr.
Funeral services will be conducted 6 oclock Wednesday evening, April 28, 2010, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro with The Reverend Dr. David Anderson officiating.
The family will receive friends following the ceremony in the Stateroom of the funeral home until 8 oclock that evening.
Mrs. Cottingham was born December 24, 1961 in Charleston and was a daughter of Mr. Russell Elsey, Sr. and the late Mrs. Carolyn Jones Elsey. She had received her degree in Sociology from Charleston Southern University and was a member of Maple Cane Baptist Church in Cottageville. She will fondly be remembered for her love of drawing, reading, going to water parks and spending time at the beach. She was the most favorite aunt to many, who dearly loved the ground she walked on.
Surviving are in addition to her father, Mr. Russell Elsey, Sr. and his wife Mrs. Norma Mills Elsey of Round O are: her two beloved children, David Russell Cottingham and Julia Lacey Cottingham both of the home; a step-daughter, Christina Marie Cottingham of Mount Pleasant; a sister, Robin Elsey Cottingham of Ridgeville; a brother, Robert Russell Rusty Elsey, Jr. of Dover, Delaware; and her mother-in-law, Elsie Miles Cottingham of Ridgeville.
