Kimberly Westbrook Bernardi

Mrs. Kimberly Westbrook Bernardi, 51, of Smoaks, entered into rest Tuesday afternoon, November 26, 2024, at McLeod Medical Center in Florence.

Join us in a farewell to our beloved Kim, anyone that knew her knew she never met a stranger, was always caring for others and an incredible animal lover. We know heaven rejoiced as she made her grand entrance into the gates.  Kimberly formerly worked at Lowcountry Center for Diabetes and Endocrinology in Walterboro as a medical receptionist where in her normal fashion, she created many lasting friendships with the patients. All that encountered her could feel her warmth, support, and loving nature. Kimberly set the example of 1 Corinthians 13:4-5 " Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs".  She was a member of Plaza Church of Christ in Sumter.

She is survived by her husband, Rick Bernardi, Jr.; her parents Bobby & Sheri Westbrook of Manning; a sister, Christiana Westbrook of Missouri and her son, Anthony Juaire; and her sisters-by-choice, Jennifer Jones (Marvin) of Smoaks, and Buffy Coward (Brandon) of Florence and their children Bailey and Dylan. In addition, her parents-in-law Kyle and Sharon Beasley of Walterboro and Rick Bernardi Sr. of North Augusta, her brother-in-law, J.B. Bernardi (Angell) of Walterboro and their children Christopher, Lauren, Ashlynne, and Jaxon; her Godchildren, Ariana and Nicholas Jones; two aunts, Debbie Linder (Rick) and Joann Daniel; and her adopted parents, Ola Boland (Kirk).

Kim was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Tracy Westbrook; and a niece, Karli Jo Bernardi.

In lieu of flowers, the family requested that memorials be directed in her memory to the following: American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75231; or to, Friends of Colleton County Animal Shelter, 33 Poor Farm Road, Walterboro, South Carolina 29488.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 o’clock Tuesday afternoon, December 3, 2024, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro.  The Reverend Daryl Hunt officiating.   Interment will follow in Glendale Memorial Cemetery, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro.
