Mr.. Kenneth Vincent Kennelly, affectionatly known as "Dutch", 69, of Cottageville, entered into eternal rest Thursday, April 26, 2012 at his residence.
Mr. Kennelly was born August 17, 1942 in Brooklyn, New York and was a son of the late Vincent Kennelly and Margaret Dunn Vandergraff. He served his country faithfully in the Merchant Marine for 23 years. He then worked for 18 years for Summerville Commissioner of Public Works and was a founding partner at K&K Power Sports on Bells Highway in Walterboro. Dutch was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and working on and riding his motorcycles. He was an Eagle Scout and was a member of the Walterboro Moose Lodge. Most of all, he loved his family and was the beloved "Grumpy" to his granddaughter, Madeleine.
Surviving are: his wife of 53 years, Marilyn "Mel" Brower Kennelly of Cottageville; children, Christopher Plummer of Cottageville, and Kim Tomashpolsky and her husband Gene of Walterboro; granddaughter, Madeleine Tomashpolsky of Walterboro; sister-in-law, Margaret Domenech and her husband Orlando of Summerville, Christine Laffey and her husband Patrick of Stuart, Florida, Gloria Mathies and her husband Danny of Ohio and Virginia Martir and her husband Manuel of San Juan; brother-in-law, Robert Brower of Arkansas; many nieces and nephews; his Scout Master, James Thomas McCrary of Cottageville; and his loving parrot, Bo.
