Kenneth Collins

Mr. Kenneth Ray Collins, 64, of Brunson, entered into eternal rest Sunday, October 12, 2014 at his residence. He was the husband of the late Kathleen Ledford Collins.

Funeral services will be held 3 pm, Thursday, October 16, 2014 at Hickory Grove Baptist Church, 125 Hickory Grove Road, Brunson. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 at Hickory Grove Baptist Church.

Mr. Collins was born October 16, 1949 in Dalton, Georgia and was a son of Trophena Elizabeth Hunt Collins and the late Willie Clifton Collins. He was a faithful member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon. He was also very active in the Pro-Life Movement. He will always be remembered for the love he had for his family.

Surviving are: his mother, Trophena Collins of Charlotte, North Carolina; children, John Kenneth Collins and his wife Sonya of Crocketville and Connie Robin Taylor and her husband James of Fairfax; grandchildren; Megan K. Collins, Kelyne R. Hiers, Kenzie R. Hiers, Kerry R. Hiers, Hallie L. Collins, Kerissa R. Hiers, and Hayden J. Collins; brothers, David E. Collins and his wife Bobbie of Lincolnton, North Carolina, Daniel R. Collins and his wife Tammy of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Charles Alan Collins and his wife Jackie of Iron Station, North Carolina; sister, Shirley Dawkins and her husband Richard of Stanley, North Carolina; uncles, Norris Ray Hunt and his wife Dixie of Lufkin, Texas and Ellis Brant Hunt of Brunson; many nieces and nephews that he dearly loved; and was expecting his first great grandchild in December. He was preceded in death by a son, Jared Jemson Collins; granddaughter, Nadia L. Collins; sisters, Carolyn M. Phelps and Beverly R. Collins; and brother-in-law, Bruce Phelps.
