Kathy Gruber Smyly

Mrs. Kathy Gruber Smyly, 50, of Sidneys Road, Round O, entered into rest Monday morning, March 31, 2014, at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 o'clock Wednesday morning, April 2, 2014, from Canaan Baptist Church, Augusta Highway, Canadys. Interment will follow in Beech Hill Cemetery, Givhans.
Born February 1, 1964, a native and lifelong resident of Colleton County, she was a daughter of Mitchell Gruber and Patricia Mae Smith. She was a member of Canaan Baptist Church. She will be fondly remembered for her love of others and her family always centering her life around her family and the two grandchildren whom she adored. She was a talented artist as well as writer.
Surviving are: her husband of twenty-six years, Mr. Shane Bragg Smyly; her father, Mitchell Gruber and his wife Betty of Round O; her mother, Patricia Smith of Round O; her daughter, Sherrie Lynne Smyly of Round O; and four sisters, Karen Mount of Walterboro, Kelly Ryan of Round O, Christina Gruber of Round O, and Jennifer Gruber of Round O. There are two grandchildren, Whitine Vogt and Brantley Vogt. She is also survived by her father-in-law, Mr. Mongin Smyly as well as several nieces and nephews.
