Mrs. Kathryn Gill Walker, 86, of Walterboro, entered into rest Monday afternoon, October 27, 2025, at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. She was the loving wife of sixty-two years to the late Mr. Bernard A. Walker, Sr.

Born July 17, 1939, in Colleton County, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late James T. Gill and the late Wilton Blocker Gill. She worked a long and dedicated career of over fifty years in dental medicine, having been a well-known and iconic figure in Walterboro for her loving and nurturing demeanor. She began her career with Dr. John B. Tennant and retired in 2011 from the office of Dr. Shannon Pye. She was a lifelong member of Black Creek Baptist Church in Walterboro, where she was active in many aspects of the church’s work. At her beloved church, she was a Sunday School teacher, served as Sunday School Director for twenty-five years, was a member of the building committee, and was responsible for the church’s weekly cleaning for many years. She will always be remembered for her world-famous chewies as well as her love of birds and flowers and the great anticipation she held for the flower garden she would have in heaven.

Surviving are: two children, Kathryn Walker O’Quinn and her husband Mark of Walterboro, and Bernard A. Walker, Jr. and his wife Sherri of Ravenel; four grandchildren, Jacob O’Quinn and his wife Jackie, Logan O’Quinn, Hannah O’Quinn Reif and her husband Chris, and Tyler Walker; three great-grandchildren, Ansley O’Quinn, Karsyn O’Quinn, and Ivy Reif; a brother-in-law, Mack O’Quinn and his wife Deborah; and a sister-in-law, Rebecca Walker as well as a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a great grandchild, Madelyn O’Quinn; and two sisters, Gracie Gill O’Quinn and Mary Gill Rhode.

Flowers will be accepted, or the family has requested that memorials be directed in her memory to: Black Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, 4931 Black Creek Road, Walterboro, South Carolina 29488.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 o’clock Saturday morning, November 1, 2025, from Black Creek Baptist Church, 4931 Black Creek Road, Walterboro. Interment will follow in Black Creek Baptist Churchyard. The family will receive friends following the interment in the church social hall.
