Mrs. Kathleen Savage Adams, 79, of 1208 Wichman Street in the Historic District of Walterboro, entered into her state of eternal rest Sunday afternoon, December 13, 2009, at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro, Georgia. She was the widow of Mr. Charley Leroy Adams, Sr.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 oclock Thursday morning, December 17, 2009, from the graveside at Glendale Memorial Cemetery, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro.
Mrs. Adams was born July 19, 1930, in Charleston, South Carolina and was a daughter of the late Mr. Charlie Anderson Savage and the late Mrs. Irene Carroll Savage. While during her declining health, Mrs. Adams was a resident in Sylvania, Georgia with her daughter. She made her career as a retired Licensed Practical Nurse having retried from the old Walterboro Hospital formerly located on Lemacks Street in Walterboro and was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Walterboro. Mrs. Adams will be fondly recalled for the love she had for visiting and socializing with people as well as her skill and talent that made her an accomplished pianist. She loved her family dearly always finding special joy in the time she spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving are: a son, Charley Leroy Adams, Jr. and his wife Marcia of Gainesville, Florida; and three daughters, Rosemary Adams Sammons and her husband Al of Sylvania, Georgia, Velvet Adams Padgett of Walterboro, and Joanne Adams Sweat and her husband Kenny of Cottageville. There are eight grandchildren, Nicole Williams of Williams, Mia Tressler of Gainesville, Florida, Allison Brockman of Walterboro, Paul Sammons of Sylvania, Georgia, Matthew Harrell of Panama City, Florida, Seth Sammons of Sylvania, Georgia, Heather Hammock of Lemoore, California, and Eric Bailey of Walterboro; as well as nine great grandchildren, Timothy, Caleb, Morgan, Noah, Tate, Jonah, Aren, Adam, and Joel that also survive.
