Karen Mount

Ms. Karen Patricia Mount, 62, of Walterboro, entered into rest Friday morning, April 11, 2025, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro.

Born December 26, 1962, in Charleston, South Carolina, she was a daughter of Mitchell Gruber and Patricia Mae Smith.  She was a well-known painter and dearly loved taking care of children.  She provided well for others and centered her life around her family.  She enjoyed fishing.

Surviving in addition to her father of Round O and her mother of Walterboro are: two sons, Robbie Mizell  and Ashley Mount both of Walterboro; three sisters, Kelly Johnson (Larry) of Walterboro, Christina Clark (Bubba) of Round O, and Jennifer Crawford (Ricky) of Walterboro; four grandchildren, Houston, Corbin, Zachary, and Caroline; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.  She was preceded in death by a sister, Kathy Smyly; her step-mother, Betty Gruber; and her step-father, Ted McMillan.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon, April 16, 2025, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro.   Pastor David Smoak officiating.
