June Markley

Mrs. June Kuceda Shillingburg Markley, 85, of 405 Black Street, Walterboro, formerly of Strasburg, Virginia died Saturday afternoon, June 6, 2009, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro.



Funeral services will be conducted 3 oclock Monday afternoon, June 8, 2009, from Welch Creek Baptist Church, 536 Welch Creek Road, Walterboro, with The Reverend James Baker officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.



Mrs. Markley was born June 7, 1923, in Winchester, Virginia, and was a daughter of the late James Sidney Brewer and the late Mary Helen Taylor Brewer, and was the adopted daughter of Charles Franklin Shillingburg and Minnie Alice McWilliams Taylor Shillingburg. She was a member of Welch Creek Baptist Church and will be remembered for her love of singing and music.



Surviving are: her husband of thirty-two years, Mr. Wayne E. Markley; a son, G. Joseph Sewell, Jr. of Walterboro; and a daughter, Patricia Lynn Brown Dunlap of Walterboro. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra June Brown Manes. There is a step-son, Ronald W. Markley of Edinburg, Virginia; two grandchildren, Tammy Consiglio and John Campbell; and three great grandchildren.
