Julia O'Quinn

WALTERBORO Mrs. Julia Avant OQuinn, 83, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Monday, February 22, 2010 in Hephzibah, Georgia. She was the widow of Woodrow Franklin OQuinn.



Funeral services will be 2 oclock, Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home, Walterboro Chapel. Interment will follow in Live Oak Cemetery, Walterboro.



Mrs. OQuinn was born November 29, 1926 in Ashton and was a daughter of the late John W. and Minerva Crosby Avant. She was a graduate of Lodge High School and former co-owner of OQuinns Nursery. She was a member of Curtis Baptist Church in Augusta. She will always be remembered by her family as a loving mother and grandmother.



Surviving are: her children, Jack W. Jones and wife Lynn of Walterboro and Mary Louise Jay and husband Ricky O. of Hephzibah, Georgia; step children, Christine Ackerman and husband Buddy of Cottageville, Darlene Lyons and husband Bernard of Walterboro and Alta Jane Canady of St. George; brother, Carlisle Avant of Grover; sisters, Jennie Walling of Walterboro and Janet Blewer of Cope; grandchildren, Julie Hiott, Heath Jones and wife Lori, Wesley Jones and wife Sonda and Jennifer Causey and husband Roby; step grandchildren, George Ackerman, Billy Ackerman, Rodney Lyons and wife Samantha, Ray Lyons, Jean Timmons and husband Eric, Joey Canady and wife Monica and Kimmi Judy and husband Ryan; and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
