Judy Snipes Horton Stone, 73, of Simpsonville, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Thursday morning, April 20, 2023, at her residence.
Born March 20, 1950, in Greenville, South Carolina, she was a daughter to the late Dr. Cecil Eugene Snipes, Sr. and Barbara Lou Sumpter Snipes. Judy was a lady that had a smile that would light up the room. She was a devoted Eastern Star member and was a past Worthy Matron. She was a member of St. Jude Episcopal Church. Judy was a collector of dolls and cookbooks, enjoyed going shopping and she often enjoyed genealogy. She was known to be a hard worker, who put her life into her work. Her greatest joys in life were her spouse, children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Walter Rickey Stone; children, Matt Horton of Salt Lake City, Utah, Phillip Stone of Cottageville, and Teresa Martin of Cottageville; grandchildren, Coleman Michael Sams, II, Emerald Martin, Barbara Martin, Lyra Horton, Abigail Martin, and Stella Hancock Horton; sister, Marsha Roseberry; and a brother, Cecil Eugene “Gene” Snipes, Jr. She is also survived by her King Charles Cavalier, Reagan.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Katherine Horton; and a brother, Phillip Snipes.
Graveside services will be held 11 o’clock, Monday morning, April 24, 2023, at Carolina Memorial Gardens, 7113 Rivers Ave, North Charleston, South Carolina.
