Mrs. Junaita Cook Driggers, 89, of North Charleston, entered into her eternal rest Sunday morning, September 23, 2012, at The Village of Summerville. She was the wife of the late Mr. Edgar Lloyd Driggers.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 oclock Wednesday morning, September 26, 2012, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. Interment will follow in Bedon Baptist Churchyard, 2410 Cottageville Highway, Walterboro.
A daughter of the late George David Cook and the late Eula Nora Cook, she was born February 26, 1923. A native of Orangeburg County , she made the North Charleston area her home for over sixty years. During World War II she was employed by the Charleston Naval Shipyard and was a retired employee of Midland Park Elementary School in North Charleston. She and her late husband were charter and devoted members for nearly fifty years at Midland Park Baptist Church where she was very active with the churchs nursery before moving her membership to Hillcrest Baptist Church in North Charleston. In earlier years she was active with the South Carolina Republican Party, and she will always be remembered as a great southern cook and her love of gardening.
Surviving are: a son, Edgar Lloyd Driggers, Jr. and his wife Frankie of Summerville; three daughters, Mary Ann Morelli and her husband Joseph of Greenville, Nora Elizabeth Teodoro and her husband Randy of Twin Lakes, Wisconsin, and Deborah Jean Lemmon and her husband Bill of Winnsboro, South Carolina; a sister, Mildred Briggs and her husband Richard of Pawleys Island; a brother-in-law, Alton Driggers of Walterboro; and a sister-in-law, Betty Cook of North Charleston. There are eleven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild that also survives as well as several loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, James David Cook, George Warren Cook, and Gillie Benjamin Cook; and a sister, Alma Bryant.
The family would like to express their appreciation to those who were so dedicated to Juanita always providing the loving care and attention she needed, The Village of Summerville, Odyseey Health Care Hospice, and AllCare Living Service.
