Biography

Mrs. Joyce Maree Robertson Bowers, 77, of Columbia, formerly of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Friday, December 2, 2011 at The Heritage Healthcare Center in Chapin. She was the widow of Mr. Lanier Bowers.

Funeral services will be held 10 am, Monday, December 5, 2011 at The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home, Walterboro Chapel. Interment will follow in Live Oak Cemetery.

Mrs. Bowers was born July 31, 1934 in Green Pond, SC and was a daughter of the late Tolbert Robertson and Louise Smith Robertson Lincoln. She was a member of Doctor's Creek Baptist Church and was a former volunteer at Colleton Medical Center.

Surviving are: her children, Elaine Starks and her husband Richard of Irmo, Kay Miller and her husband Lou of Bluffton and Anne Stumbo and her husband Doug of Lexington; grandchildren, Jacquelyn Gayle and her husband Todd, Jonathan Starks, Shannon Archer, Cory Miller and his wife Kati, Brent Miller and his wife Amber, Madalyn Stumbo and Ryan Stumbo; and great grandchildren, Heydan and Connor Gayle, and Charlotte, Porter and Thomas Miller.

The family would like to thank Dr. Leone and the staff of Senior Primary Care in Columbia, the staff of The Lowman Home and the staff of Southlake Village for the wonderful and loving care they have provided.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to: The American Heart Association.
