Joseph Lincoln Willis, Sr.

Mr. Joseph Lincoln Willis, Sr., 82, of North Charleston, entered into rest Friday, October 29, 2021, at his residence surrounded by his family.   He was the loving husband of sixty-one years to Mrs. Donna Lee Willis.

Born January 12, 1939, in Charleston, South Carolina, he a son to the late Mr. Abraham Lincoln Willis and the late Mrs. Ruth Smith Willis.

Mr. Joseph was known by many as “Dog Catcher”.  He had an enjoyment of the outdoors and was a past member of the North Charleston Hunting Club and was the former Treasurer for the Eureka Hunting Club for many years.   He served six years in the National Guard and worked in the Navy Yard as a Nuclear Inspector.

He was a family man to the fullest.   His wife, Mrs. Donna was the love of his life and his children were unconditionally loved.  His grandchildren held a special place in his heart, while all of his family made up his whole world.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by, his sons, John Christopher “Chris” Willis and Joseph Lincoln Willis, Jr. both of Charleston; daughters, Stacy Ann Weathersbee and her husband Philip of Canadys and Debbie Lynn Linder and her husband Johnny of Canadys; he is also survived by his eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his siblings, William “Billy” Willis, Robert Allen “Shorty” Willis and Patricia Ann Willis.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 o’clock Tuesday afternoon, November 2, 2021, at The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home, Walterboro Chapel.  The Reverend Blake Anderson will be officiating.  Interment will conclude at Glendale Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends prior to the funeral beginning at 1 o’clock at the funeral home.
