Joseph Wayne Moore, 43, of Moore Hill Lane in Yemassee, entered into rest early Friday morning, January 2, 2015, in Walterboro.

Funeral services will be conducted 1 o’clock Monday afternoon, January 5, 2015, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. Interment will follow in Black Creek Baptist Churchyard, 4931Black Creek Road, Walterboro.

Born March 24, 1971, a native of Colleton County, he was a son of Mr. Ralph Wayne Moore and Mrs. Connie Mock Yow. He was a driver with Bootle Logging. “Big Joe” was an avid outdoors man and will be fondly remembered for his love of hunting and fishing. He was a huge University of South Carolina Gamecock fan and in his high school days had played with the Walterboro High School Bull Dogs. He was full of humor and a great practical joker who loved his family and friends dearly, always putting the wants of others first.

Surviving are: his father, Ralph W. Moore and his wife Marilyn of Yemassee; his mother, Connie Mock Yow and her husband Ronnie of Ashboro, North Carolina; and his fiancée, Sherri Lynn Hiott and her children, Brooke McMillan and Roy McMillan and grandson Kane. He is also survived by a sister, Janet Sykes and her husband Keith of Ashboro, North Carolina and their son, Austin; and three brothers, Shane Johnson and his fiancée Kelley Barringer of Charlotte, North Carolina, Daniel Watts and his wife Kerri of Elgin and their children Owen and Aidan, and Brian Yow and his wife Laurie and their children, Keili, Keristen, and Kamryn; as well as Sherri’s mother, Minnie Fletcher Hiott of Walterboro; and Sherri’s two brothers, Timmie and Roger. There is a beloved host of Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins who will forever cherish his memory.
