Mr. Joseph Oliver Pye, affectionately known as Buddy, age 65, of Drew Hill Court, Cottageville, entered into rest Friday morning, November 29, 2013, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 oclock Saturday afternoon, November 30, 2013, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Hendersonville Highway, Walterboro.
Born September 20, 1947, a native of Walterboro, South Carolina, he was a son of Mrs. Dorothy Pye Waters and the late Mr. Thomas Joseph Pye. He served his country faithfully in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He retired from the chip distribution industry and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving in addition to his mother of Greenville are: his wife of forty-seven years, Mrs. Barbara Thompson Pye; a son, Joseph Pye and his wife Letitia of Summerville; a daughter, Teri Pye Mann and her husband Jay of Charleston; a brother, Tommy Pye of Columbia; and three sisters, Lennis Blackburn of Hilton Head, Deborah Dees of Sylvania, Georgia, and Linda Faye Walters of Columbia. There are six grandchildren that also survive.
