Joseph Alfred Garofano, Sr.

Mr. Joseph Alfred Garofano, Sr., 93, of Walterboro, entered into rest Sunday evening, August 28, 2017, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro.   He was the loving husband of the late Mary Agnes Lemear Garofano.

The Funeral Mass will be held 1 o'clock Saturday afternoon, September 23, 2017, at Saint Anthony Roman Catholic Church, South Jefferies Boulevard, Walterboro.

Born November 4, 1923, in Rutland, Vermont, he was a son of the late Louis Garofano and the late Amelia Duncan Garofano.  He served our country faithfully in the United States Air Force.  He was the retired owner and operator of Al’s Mobile Home Repairs in Tampa, Florida, a company he operator for forty-five years.  He was a member of Saint Anthony Roman Catholic Church and the Moose Lodge in Tampa.

Surviving are: a son, Joseph A. Garofano, Jr. of Walterboro; a grandchild, Jennifer Ortiz and her husband Joey; four great grandchildren, Sean Michael Ortiz, Christopher Ortiz, Marissa Ortiz, and Michael Ortiz; and a daughter-in-law, Marian Garofano of Walterboro.  He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Garofano.
