Joseph Browning

Mr. Joseph Paul Browning, affectionately known by all as Buddy, age 78, of Lodge, South Carolina died Monday afternoon, May 4, 2009, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro.



Funeral services will be conducted 3 oclock Thursday afternoon, May 7, 2009, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro.



Mr. Browning was born October 14, 1930, in Pahokee, Florida and was a son of the late Paul and Lilly Brewer Browning. He served his country faithfully in the United States Marine Corp and was a retired electrician from Lee County Coop in Fort Myers, Florida. After retirement he also was employed as a manager for a fishing resort in Wisconsin. He was of the Baptist faith and possessed a love for fishing and hunting.



Surviving are: his wife of thirty-seven years, Mrs. Joy Mayberry Browning; a son, Robert R. Browning of Naples, Florida; two daughters, Robin A. Browning of Naples, Florida and Rana E. Holloway (Johnny) of Fort Myers, Florida; and step-children, Ronnie Addison of Decatur, Illinois, Thomas Addison (Susie) of Moweaqua, Illinois, Pamela Davis of Decatur, Illinois, John Addison of Decatur, Illinois, Melody Celec (Keith) of Fort Myers, Florida, and Scott Janes (Sharon) of Stafford, Virginia. There are eleven brothers and sisters as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren that also survive.



The family will receive friends following the funeral service Thursday afternoon until 5 oclock.
