Jose Leyja
August 4, 1954 — June 5, 2016
Jose Leyja, age 61, of Ruffin, entered into eternal rest Sunday, June 5, 2016, at Trident Medical Center in North Charleston.
Born August 4, 1954 in Corpus Christie, Texas, he was a longtime employee of Williams Farms. He was a member of the Moselle Church of God of Prophecy and will always be remembered for his love of animals as well as his passion for growing plants.
Surviving are: his wife of thirty-three years, Mrs. Lydia R. Leyja; three sons, Manuel Leyja and his wife Vanessa of Ruffin, Jose Rivas of Walterboro, and Sammy Leyja of Ruffin; a brother, Paul Leyja of Lawton, Oklahoma; two sisters, Maggie Leyja and Elizabeth Leyja both of Frederick, Oklahoma; fourteen grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 6 o’clock Wednesday evening, June 8, 2016 from the Walterboro Chapel of The Brice Herndon Funeral Chapels and Crematory. The family will receive friends following the funeral ceremony until 8 o’clock that evening.
