Mr. Jonathan Daniel Moore, 56, of Smoaks, entered into eternal rest Tuesday evening, May 19, 2026, at his residence.
Born July 5, 1969, in Columbia, South Carolina, he was a son of John Wesley Moore, Jr. and Lynn Squires Welch. He was a retired Operations Supervisor for Dominion Energy – Cope Station. He was a member of St. Johns Baptist Church in Ehrhardt. Dan enjoyed woodworking and was always a hard worker, but more than anything, he loved his children and adored his grandchildren.
Surviving are: his wife, Tracy Lyons Moore of Smoaks; father, John Wesley Moore, Jr. of Lexington; mother, Lynn Welch and her husband Wayne of Ridgeville; children, Cody Moore and his wife Payton of Blackville, Ashlyn Peters and her husband Joshua of Smoaks, and Gabriel Lyons of Smoaks; grandchildren, Emilyn Peters, Gavin Peters, and Wesley Moore; sisters, Terri Schultz and her husband Scott of Charlotte, North Carolina, Caroline Robinson and her husband James of Lexington, and Fran Hallman and her husband Darby of Lexington; as well as a host of extended family.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions can be made to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105.
Funeral services will be held 11 o’clock, Saturday morning, May 23, 2026, at The Brice Herndon Funeral Home, Ehrhardt-Bamberg Chapel.
The family will receive friends during a time of visitation Friday evening from 6 o’clock until 8 o’clock at THE BRICE W.
