Mr. Johnny Durant Strickland, 82, of Ruffin, entered into eternal rest Friday, November 22, 2013 at Uni Health Post Acute Care in Walterboro. He was the husband of the late Marlene Smyly Strickland.
Born May 20, 1931 in Smoaks, he was a son of the late C.W. Strickland and Roxie Hagan Strickland. He was a member of Berea Advent Christian Church and was a member of Bells Masonic Lodge, No. 231.
Surviving are: his children, Ann S. Hawkins (Mark) of Ruffin, Kenneth Dean Strickland of Ruffin, and Carey Strickland (Debbie) of Cottageville; brothers, David Strickland (Sara) of Walterboro, Feddie Strickland (Ann) of Lexington, and Jimmy Strickland (Ilona) of Walterboro; sisters, Gladys Myers (Alfred) of Charleston, Christine Robertson of Hartsville, and Wanda Shurlknight (Teddy) of Orangeburg; 11 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother Billy Strickland.
