Mr. Johnny Vander Beach, Sr., 89, of Walterboro, entered into rest Wednesday evening, January 22, 2014, at his residence. He was the husband of the late Mrs. Betty Jones Beach.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 o'clock Thursday morning, January 30, 2014, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro.
The family will receive friends following the funeral ceremony in the Craven Parlor of the mortuary.
Born July 8, 1924, a native of Colleton County, he was a son of the late Vander Beach and the late Gertrude Burns Beach. He served his country faithfully in the United States Army during World War II and retired from the security department of Colleton Medical Center. Johnny will be fondly remembered for his love to sing and play the guitar which he was very talented in his musical abilities. He also loved fishing the fresh water creeks of Colleton County.
Surviving are: a daughter, Kathy Koth of Walterboro; a granddaughter, Heather Koth; and a great granddaughter, LaQuasia Mosley. He was preceded in death by a son, Johnny Vander Beach, Jr.
