Mr. John Frances Weber, Jr., 81, a recent resident of the Veterans Victory House in Walterboro, SC, died Saturday, August 29, 2009, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro. Mr. Weber was born at home in Brooklyn, New York on June 7, 1928 to the late John Frances Weber and Cecelia Burns Weber. He attended local Brooklyn, New York schools and the community college. He served in the United States Army, doing active duty in the Korean Conflict.
He was married to Claire Middlebrooks Weber and was the owner and operator of a landscaping and flooring business and was of the Roman Catholic Faith. While living in Florida, he was an avid fisherman and collector. He loved to travel extensively, visiting much of the world.
Funeral services with military honors provided by the United States Army will be conducted Wednesday morning, September 2, 2009, at 11:30 AM from the graveside at the Beaufort National Cemetery, 124 Boundary Street, Beaufort, South Carolina.
He is survived by his wife, Claire Middlebrooks Weber; a daughter, Valerie Allison (Jamie) and grandson, Ian Gregory Allison of Royal Palm Beach, Florida; a sister, Lucille Kisziel of Palm Bay, Florida; children Alfred Eldredge (Donna) of Tequesta, Florida, Mary Greenwell (Jon) of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, and Tom Eldredge (Shannon) of Meeteetse, Wyoming; grandchildren, Christopher, Evan and Brook Eldredge of Tequesta, Florida, Katherine and Hunter Greenwell of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, and Emily, Aspen, Asa and Ivy Claire Eldredge of Meeteetse, Wyoming.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Deep Well Project, 154A Beach City Road, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
