Mr. John Wayne Warren, 62, of 153 Durango Lane, Cottageville, died Wednesday afternoon, October 8, 2008, at his residence after an extended illness and under the care of Winyah Hospice.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 oclock Sunday afternoon, October 12, 2008, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro with The Reverend Roger Teeslink. Interment, with military honors provided by the United States Army, will follow in Glendale Memorial Cemetery, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro.
Mr. Warren was born June 4, 1946, in Jasper County and was a son of the late Tillman Warren and the late Sarah Ethel Lemacks Warren. He served his country in the United States Army from 1966 through 1969, having seen action in the Vietnam Conflict and Germany. He retired from Asten Hill Corporation in Walterboro after having worked for 29 years. He was of the Southern Baptist Faith and will be remembered for the love he possessed for his grandchildren, making them his life, and for his love of fishing.
Surviving are his wife: Mrs. Fannie Bunch Warren; two sons, Charles William Bunch of Summerville and James Douglas Wright of Round O; a daughter, Tammy Vick and her husband Thad of Cottageville; a brother, Vic Warren and his wife Jane of Summerville; and two sisters, Emma Dell McDonald and her husband Aubrey of Ladson and Donna Marie Gray of Columbia. There are six grandchildren, Cassie Vick, Travis Spell, T.J. Vick, Collin Bunch, Dylan Bunch and Gracie Vick; his mother-in-law, Mrs. Lurline Bunch of Holly Hill, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Tillman Warren, Jr., James Lee Warren, Charles Pinckney Warren, and William Richard Warren; and two sisters, Clara Lou Jones and Margie Pearl Hutto.
