Mr. John Thomas Tucker, Jr., known by all as “Tom,” age 76, of Charleston, entered into eternal rest Tuesday evening, February 18, 2025, at the Veteran’s Victory House in Walterboro.
Born July 16, 1948, in New York City, he was the son of the late John T. Tucker, Sr. and the late Adelaide Sweeney Tucker. He served our country faithfully in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era. He achieved the rank of Lieutenant and primarily served on submarines. Tom worked at the Charleston Naval Shipyard and was of the Roman Catholic faith. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a certified scuba diver and was also a linguist, which stemmed from childhood years in South America.
Surviving are: his wife, Mrs. Gloria Ceniza Tucker; two sons, Jason Tucker (Mary Rose) of Texas and Christopher Tucker (Kala) of Charleston; and three grandchildren, Joshua, Jordan, and Jade. He was preceded in death by a son, Tommy Tucker.
Funeral services with military honors will be conducted at 1 o’clock Monday afternoon, March 3, 2025, from the Beaufort National Cemetery, 1601 Boundary Street, Beaufort.
