Mr. John Anthony Tripp, 50, of Ruffin, entered into rest Wednesday afternoon, December 2, 2015, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 o’clock Saturday afternoon, December 5, 2015, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro.
Born October 14, 1965, in Beaufort County, he was the third child of Dink Tripp and Marian Smoak Tripp. He was a 1984 graduate of Ruffin High School. He was a talented precision machinist, who worked many years for Parker Aerospace in Beaufort, Eaton Aerospace in North Charleston, and American Machining & Manufacturing in Varnville. John was an avid outdoorsman. He was a longtime member of the Bailey Place Hunting Club and the Fraser Lake Hunting Club. He loved deer hunting, especially dog drives with his lifelong friends and relatives. He's in the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources’ deer antler record book for a 140 class 8-point killed in 1998. He was also an excellent fisherman and turkey hunter. Some of his family's and friends' most cherished memories of him will be the many days spent fishing in the ACE Basin and hunting in the Lowcountry.
John leaves behind his wife of thirty years, Mrs. Beth Alderman Tripp; and two sons, Dustin Tripp, of the home, and Drew Tripp (Hannah) of Walterboro. Also surviving are: his parents, Dink Tripp and Marian Tripp, of Ruffin; two sisters, Tami Linder (Tony) of Smoaks, and Tracy Kinard, of Varnville; his father and mother-in-law, Tommy and Betty Alderman of Walterboro; a brother-in-law, Gene (Dana) of Goldsboro, North Carolina; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Tripp..
