John Harvey

Mr. John Oliver Harvey, 63, of Hampton, died Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at MUSC in Charleston.



Funeral services will be held 2 pm, Friday, January 14, 2011 at The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home, Varnville-Hampton Chapel. Interment will follow in Mount Olive Baptist Church Cemetery in Early Branch.



Mr. Harvey was born May 30, 1947 in Beaufort and was a son of the late Fred Oliver Harvey and Bridie Winn Harvey. He served his country faithfully in the United States Army and was a member of Cypress Creek Baptist Church.



Surviving are: his wife, Maudie Chassereau Harvey of Hampton; step-daughters, Sandra Roberts and her husband, Clair Buddy Roberts of Seabrook and Darlene Berry and her husband Robbie Berry of Orangeburg; grandson, Matthew Berry of Orangeburg; brother, Ray Blue Harvey of Early Branch; sister, Chryl Eurie of Maggie Valley, NC; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Sandra Harrell and Joyce Ann York.
