Mr. John Leo Dobbins, 70, of Mount Pleasant, entered into eternal rest Friday, January 31, 2025, at his residence.
Born April 11, 1954, in Sumter, he was a son of the late Colonel Russell Blackmon Dobbins (USAF, Ret) and the late Leonara Warren Dobbins. He graduated from the University of South Carolina and was an avid Gamecock fan. He was a retired supervisor from GP Forest Products in Prosperity and owned and operated West Ashley Lumber Company in Cottageville for many years. John loved going to the Isle of Palms and visited there daily. He enjoyed going to the gym and loved football.
Surviving are: his daughter, McKenzie Dobbins Reeves and her husband John of Walterboro; sister, Minnie L. Dobbins of Mount Pleasant; nieces, Kathleen Kemp and Rachel Dobbins; nephews, Russell Blackmon Dobbins, III and Andrew Rutledge Kemp; and many great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Russell Blackmon Dobbins, Jr.; and a sister, Paula Dobbins Kemp.
