Mr. John Melvin DeLoach, 83, of Stanley Street, Hampton, entered into eternal rest Sunday, February 26, 2012 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 3:30 pm, Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home, Varnville-Hampton Chapel. Interment will follow in the Peeples Cemetery.
Mr. DeLoach was born August 8, 1928 in Nixville and was the son of the late William O'Neal DeLoach and Bell Brunson DeLoach. He retired from Westinghouse after thirty seven and a half years of service. He was a long time member of West End Baptist Church. He was an avid gardener and loved watching his plants grow. He was a loving a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Surviving are: his wife of 50 years, Frances Peeples DeLoach; two daughters, Christine Carson Parker and Melissa Peeples Judy, both of Hampton; four grandsons, David Carson of Hampton, William Parker of Houston, TX, and Dexter and Hunter Judy of Swansea; three granddaughters, Mindy Carson Miller and husband Johnny of Evansville, GA, Kristen Gerhardt and husband Christopher of Houston, TX and Kassie Judy of Swansea; two great granddaughters, Arizona Carson of Nixville and Carson Miller of Evansville, GA; and one sister, Velma Breland of Nixville. He was preceded in death by one son, David Carson; brothers, Leroy, Mike, Ernest, Everett and Wilton "Junior"; sisters, Addie Lee Long, Irene Hadwin and Bernice Mixson.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Agape Hospice of the Lowcountry, 433 First Avenue, Ridgeland, SC 29936; or to West End Baptist Church, 1049 Elm Street West, Hampton, SC 29924.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 pm, Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at the funeral home.
