John Robert "Bobby" Rast

Biography
Mr. John Robert Rast, affectionately known by all as "Bobby" age, 61, of Ram Horn Road, Varnville, entered into rest Friday afternoon, July 18, 2014, at the Hampton Regional Medical Center in Varnville.
Funeral services will be conducted 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon, July 20, 2014, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Varnville. The Reverend Mike Lupo officiating. Interment will follow in Hampton Cemetery.
Born October 15, 1952, a native of Orangeburg County, he was a son of the late Robert Lee Rast and the late Flossie Anita Barber Rast. He was a logger and certified welder. He was a member of Berea Advent Christian Church in Smoaks. He will be fondly remember for his love of hunting and fishing, having formerly been a member of Smoaks Hunting Club; as well as his love of music and playing the bass guitar. Bobby always enjoyed sharing a story, many of which will be forever remembered by a family who loved him dearly.
Surviving are: his wife, Mrs. Belinda Peeples Rast; a son, Christopher Scott Rast and his wife Barbara of Boneau Beach; five step-children, Tonya Evans and her husband Johnny Lee, Jr. of Walterboro, Craig Duffy of Mount Pleasant, Cindy Moore of Varnville, Vincent Peeples of Hampton, and Tyler Peeples of Hampton; and two sisters, Susan Carter Myers and Linda R. Linder both of Smoaks. There are seven grandchildren and one great grandchild that also survives.
