Ms. Joanne Elizabeth Simmons, 40, of Hampton, passed away Monday, August 10, 2015 at Beaufort Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 5 pm, Thursday, August 13, 2015 at Grays Church of God of Prophecy, 1405 Big Branch Road, Early Branch. Interment will follow in the Davis Family Cemetery, Grays Highway, Early Branch. The family will receive friends Thursday afternoon from 4 pm until the hour of service at the church.
Joanne was born April 28, 1975 in Hampton and was a daughter of Odis Rhoden and Betty Davis Hill. She enjoyed swimming and going crabbing. She loved helping others and cooking for everyone. Most of all loved her grandchildren and spending time with her family.
Surviving are: her mother and step-father, Betty and James Hill of Early Branch; father, Odis Rhoden, Sr. of Varnville; children, Becky Blocker and her husband Dustin of Varnville, Michael Simmons of Hampton, and Christopher Simmons of Hampton; grandchildren, Hunter Blocker, Liam Blocker and Lucas Blocker; the father of her children, Michael Simmons of Hampton; brother, Odis Rhoden, Jr. of Early Branch; and step-brother, Kevin Hill of Walterboro..
