Mrs. Joan Traxler Fletcher, 73, of Hendersonville, entered into eternal rest Wednesday afternoon, October 11, 2023, at the Friends of Caroline Hospice House.
Born June 24, 1950, in St. George, she was a daughter of the late Hurby Traxler and Ruth Canaday Traxler. Joan was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse having worked at Colleton Medical Center in the Intensive Care Unit for 15 years and then worked at Walterboro Family Practice for 29 years. She was a member of Hendersonville Baptist Church. She loved her church and was a member of the Women’s Missionary Union and was a former Sunday School Teacher. She enjoyed working with her flowers. Most of all, she loved her family and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandson.
Surviving are: her husband, Elliott T. Fletcher; children, Cathy Fletcher Lemacks and her husband Jeremy “Spanky” of Walterboro and Greg Fletcher of Hendersonville; grandson, Wyatt Lemacks; brother, Kenneth Traxler of St. George; sister-in-law, Mary Alice Craven of Green Pond; niece, Natalie Bowers; and nephews, Wes Craven and Adam Craven. She was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Michael Craven; and a sister-in-law, Penny Traxler.
Funeral services will be held 11 o’clock, Saturday, October 14, 2023, at The Brice Herndon Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. Interment will follow in Black Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, 4931 Black Creek Road, Walterboro.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation prior to the service beginning at 10 o’clock, Saturday morning.
