Jimmy Sauls

Mr. Jimmy Edward Sauls, 71, of Third Street, Hampton, entered into eternal rest Thursday, February 13, 2014 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held 2 pm, Sunday, February 15, 2014 at Moselle Church of God of Prophecy. Interment will follow in Johnson-St. Paul Cemetery.

Born November 5, 1942 in Hampton County, he was a son of the late Gettis and Edna Bowers Sauls. He was the owner and operator of Sauls Construction Company for over 40 years and operated Sauls Grocery in Hampton for 12 years. Mr. Sauls served his country faithfully in the United States Coast Guard. He was a member of Moselle Church of God of Prophecy and loved to fish. Most of all, he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who centered his life around his family, especially his granddaughter, whom he loved dearly.

Surviving are: his wife of 47 years, Patsy Gooding Sauls of Hampton; sons, William Edward Sauls and his wife Christy of Varnville and Charlie Sauls of Hampton; granddaughter, Katelyn Sauls of Varnville; brothers, Buddy Sauls of San Leandro, California and Johnny Sauls of Shiloh, North Carolina; sister, Betty Padgett of Hampton; and niece and nephews, Allison Vonk, Randy Sauls, Billy Sauls, and Wilson Jarrell, Jr.. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Sauls; brother, Richard Sauls; and sister, Marie Jarrell.
