Mr. Jimmy Thurston Risher, 76, of Walterboro, entered into rest Monday afternoon, October 10, 2016, at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 o’clock Thursday morning, October 13, 2016, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. Interment will follow in the Providence Cemetery.
Born September 10, 1940, in Colleton County, he was a son of the late Ira Lewis Risher and the late Donnie Ella Langdale Risher. He was the retired owner and operator of Risher Trucking and following his retirement, devoted a great part of his life to gardening and taking care of his animals. He will always be remembered as a simple country man. He was a member of Evergreen Christian Church and had attended Victory Baptist Church.
Surviving are: his wife of forty years, Mrs. Hazel Cox Risher; a son, Jimmy Risher, Jr., a brother, Ladson Risher of Walterboro; a sister, Ida Mae Crosby of Charleston; and two grandchild. He is also survived by a host of special nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as a large family that he dearly loved and whom dearly loved him.
