Mr. James Walter Phillips, Jr., known by all as Jimmy, age 29, of Ruffin, entered into rest Thursday afternoon, January 22, 2015, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro from injuries sustained during an automobile accident in Colleton County.
A celebration of Jimmys life will be conducted 4 oclock Sunday afternoon, January 25, 2015, from Pine Grove Baptist Church, No. 1, 99 Pine Grove Road, Walterboro. The Reverend Kenneth McCaskill officiating.
The family will receive friends that afternoon following the funeral ceremony in the Sanctuary of the church.
Born August 27, 1985 in Beaufort, South Carolina, he was a son of Mr. James Walter Phillips, Sr. and the late Theresa DuBois Phillips. He was employed by Lewis Tree Service where he worked diligently and faithfully for many years. The familys home church and where he was raised was Pine Grove Baptist Church No. 1 in Walterboro. An avid outdoorsman, those who knew Jimmy, knew the love he possessed for fishing and hunting. Also, he was well known for the time he devoted to automobiles, racing, four-wheelers, and working on cars.
Surviving in addition to his father, Jimmy and his wife Rhonda of Beaufort are: the love of his life to whom he was engaged, Amber Brooke Lewis; his two year old daughter, Paisley Mary-Anne Phillips; and his two month old son, Jayce Cooper Phillips. There are five sisters, Crystal Phillips and her husband Mike, Tonya Heaton and her husband Ben, Amanda Colantonio and her husband Tony, Jennifer Steffey Padilla, and Ann Graves and her husband Alton; as well as beloved host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
