Jimmy Bryan

Mr. James Harold “Jimmy” Bryan, Sr., age 65, of Walterboro, entered into rest Saturday morning, October 26, 2019, at Riverside Health in Charleston.

Born March 13, 1954, in Walterboro, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Carroll “C.B.” Bryan and the late Rachel Herndon Bryan Jones.  Jimmy knew hard work and was a “Jack-of-all-Trades”.  He was excellent with carpentry and mechanic work but his best talent was at welding and machine work.  He was the owner of Bryan’s Welding and Machine Shop.  He was a life long member of Evergreen Christian Church in Walterboro.  Jimmy was a devoted family man.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as cookouts and being with those he loved.

Surviving are: his wife of thirty-nine years, Mrs. Gail Breland Bryan; a son, James Harold “Jim” Bryan, Jr. and his wife Ashley of Walterboro; three grandchildren, Ethan Andrew Bryan, Payton James Bryan, and Noah Drew Bryan; and a brother, David C. Bryan and his wife Joye of Ruffin and their son, Jason Bryan (Jessica) and their two children, Gavin and Kinlee.  He is also survived by a step-daughter, Connie Lynn Smoak Gugel and her husband Donald of Charleston and their children Abbie Gail and Maxwell; a sister-in-law, Myra Bryan of Walterboro; a nephew, William Bryan (Wendy) and their children Joseph and Laura; and a niece, Kristen Fraser (Terry) and their children, Brittnay, Caitlyn, and Ashlynn.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Allen R. Bryan and his step-father, Chalmers N. Jones.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 o’clock Saturday morning, November 2, 2019, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro.  Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Bells Highway, Walterboro.
