Mr. Jim Franklin Hiott, 24, formerly of Walterboro, entered into his eternal rest Wednesday, May 2, 2012, in Gilbert, Arizona.
The relatives and friends of Specialist Jim Franklin Hiott are invited to attend his funeral service which will be conducted 11 o'clock Saturday morning, May 12, 2012, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro with The Reverend O'Neal Vaughn and Chaplin Josh White officiating. Entombment with full military honors will follow in Glendale Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro.
Mr. Hiott was born January 7, 1988, in Colleton County and was a son of Linda Crosby Hiott and Alden David Hiott. He served his country honorably in the South Carolina National Guard having reached the rank of Specialist and served a year tour in Afghanistan. He was a graduate of Colleton County High School where he was a member of the marching band having held first chair in Trombone. He was a member of Smoaks Church of God of Prophecy where he was dedicated to serving God by helping with numerous service projects within the church. At his church, he was active with the youth group and served as a church usher. He was a former volunteer member of Colleton County Fire Rescue.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his siblings to include his brother, Larry Hiott of Walterboro; and his grandmother, Clara Mae Crosby of Walterboro. There is a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins who also survive.
